Apprentice Field Service Technician - SALT LAKE CITY

Dillon Toyota Lift is a premier full service provider of Toyota forklifts, rentals, parts and service, and lift truck operator training in Idaho and Utah. Toyota is the forklift leader in the industry – its brand speaks for itself, with more Toyota forklifts in operation than any other forklift brand in North America.

As a growing company, we are looking for a Field Service Technician/Apprentice for our Salt Lake City, Utah location. If you have a mechanical aptitude and desire to learn a trade, we are interested in speaking with you! This position offers a great opportunity for growth and advancement.  

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform general shop and field tasks, and other duties as assigned.
  • Learn skills involving maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Toyota forklift equipment.
  • Assist with the coordination and completion of daily office and customer paperwork.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.  
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by keeping area neat and orderly.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Preferred general knowledge and aptitude for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills.
  • Effectively interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Strength to lift up to 75 lbs, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and kneeling required.
  • Clean driving record, willing to submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen.

If you have a mechanical aptitude and desire to learn a trade, we are interested in speaking with you! This position offers a great opportunity for growth and advancement.

  • Basic knowledge and aptitude for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills.
  • Effectively interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Strength to lift up to 75 lbs, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and kneeling required.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs and service on industrial equipment at customer site.
  • Conduct computer-based diagnostics on forklifts and other products.
  • Ability to convey product knowledge and provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Consult customers on the benefits of OEM parts and planned maintenance plans.
  • Build long-term working relationships with assigned customers and expand customer base by attracting new customers.  
  • Maintain regular communication with service managers, parts department, and dispatchers to expedite repairs and service.
  • Maintain timely and accurate accounting of labor hours, work orders, parts used for inventory, and other customer-related paperwork.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training certifications.
 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer two years vocational training as a mechanic.
  • Require one to two years of experience as a mechanic or technician in the industry.
  • Or any combination of education and experience that is necessary to perform essential duties.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, gas and LP systems.
  • Effectively interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Strength to lift up to 75 lbs, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and kneeling required.
  • Clean driving record, willing to submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen.
