Field Service Technician (Journeyman) - Salt Lake City, UT

Dillon Toyota Lift (DTL) is the authorized Toyota forklift dealer in Utah and Idaho. DTL is a full-service provider of new and used forklifts, rentals, parts, lift truck operator training, warehousing and racking services. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Field Service Technician in our Salt Lake City, UT location. Essential Job Duties:

  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and/or rebuild all classes of equipment, including proficiency in electrical components of all classes.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently.
  • Ability to convey product knowledge and provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Consult customers on the benefits of OEM parts and planned maintenance plans.
  • Build long-term working relationships with assigned customers and expand customer base by attracting new customers.
  • Maintain regular communication with service managers, parts department, and dispatchers to expedite repairs and service.
  • Maintain timely and accurate accounting of labor hours, work orders, parts used for inventory, and other customer-related paperwork.
  • Complete training certifications.
 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a mechanic or technician in the industry. Prefer Journeyman level (10+ years of experience).
  • Or any combination of education and experience that is necessary to perform essential duties.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Expert knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, gas and LP systems.
  • Effectively interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Strength to lift up to 75 lbs, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and kneeling required.
  • Clean driving record, willing to submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Branch Operations Manager - UT

We have an immediate need for a Branch Operations Manager in our Salt Lake City, UT location.

Essential Job Duties:

This position will work closely with the President, CFO, and other departmental teams. The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the daily operations and profitability of the branch.
  • Responsible for the strategic oversight, administration and management of several departments, including organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Establish goals and expectations for team oversight, setting direction and influencing team performance through development/coaching of managers and employees.
  • Implement strategies to ensure operational and customer delivery services perform at a high level (i.e., operational best practices and oversee the branch?s work flows and process flows).
  • Effectively manage the business to ensure forecasts and budgets are met and reported accurately.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, management team, customers, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Create a positive, productive, working environment and culture.
  • Recruitment and selection of staff to meet workforce needs.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings to review progress of goals and desired outcomes.
 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of service operations experience in a managerial role
  • Industry experience specific to forklift and material handling, prefer high-volume dealership background
  • Demonstrate strong skills in leading and managing cross-functional teams, comfortable taking the lead and able to drive results
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving, business judgment, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional conflict resolution and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Solid working knowledge of computers and database systems
